WHAT I WORE
This is what I wear every day as a stay-at-home mom of six kids.
If you wear pure hues, type 4 and winter colors, burgundy is a HARD color to identify. I've come up with several tricks to get this right, and I'm sharing my burgundy finds, plus my tips and tricks to train your eye with a free download that includes a burgundy color scale.
This week I took inspiration outfits from Pinterest and made them my own. I show you how you can get inspiration from outfits you see and learn how to take what you love about it and make it perfect for you. Come see the rest of the outfits I was inspired by!
Adrenal fatigue is my number one roadblock in life. It slams on the brakes for me when I don't do it for myself. I will drive myself into the ground and still not stop, so my body stops me. It's frustrating. This is what I wore when I haven't been feeling great. Some days I was trying to channel better energy with brighter colors, and other days I retreated to soothing colors. Read more to find out what worked...or didn't.
I'm prepared to admit it. Skinny jeans don't flatter me. This week I made a comparison between skinny jeans and bootcut jeans every day to see which looked best for my pear shaped body. Am I ready to quit skinny jeans for good? Come find out.
This week I decided to go back and find 8 outfits from a few years ago and tweak them to look and fit better. One of them is my most popular pin on Pinterest, out of 12,000 pins! Come check out the original outfits and see if you agree that this week I wore it better.
I'm loving the perfect crisp fall weather. It's cold enough for layers and not so cold I'm in danger of hypothermia. I rescued my tomatoes and peppers just before the frost and made some freezer meals this weekend. I'm still enjoying combining bold colors for fall looks. This is one of my favorite times of year.
What a full week! I had company come stay, a huge weekend event, met a bunch of wonderful new friends, and I launched my new Shop My Finds page! I'm ready for some down time.
This week has been a bear. So busy and stressful, so I retreated to black. Even my husband said to me a few days ago, "Get your black pants on. You'll be fine." #soulmates So that black hole in the picture? That's me on repeat.
The weather is finally starting to cool down! I'm so glad because I love to wear jeans much more than shorts, and now it's socially acceptable. I've added a new feature to these posts, plus a favorite item that you've asked about is back in stock, so check those out!
How was your Labor Day? Summer is officially over, and the temperatures have soared again, but fall will be here soon. This is what I wore when we didn't go out of town for the holiday, and it turned out to be the best decision. Read on to find out why.
Has school started where you live? This is week two, and I'm still trying to recover from the summer. That means I didn't wear a lot of color, and I kept my outfits comfortable and easy.
School has started! And the week leading up to it was the final sprint. The last two days have been much quieter around here with five of them gone half the day. At the request of some of you, I took more pictures of the paint job I did on the main floor of my house and shared them at the end of this post. Has school started at your house? Are you excited or sad?
It's been a busy two weeks, and you can read all about the big project I tackled in today's post. I reverted to black and white for most of the two weeks because I was stressed and tired, but black and white doesn't have to be boring! The volume reduction in my clothing was soothing to me. Do you have a go-to color palette when you are overwhelmed?
Going to the lake is so fun! Packing is not. This is the perfect packing list for a weekend at the lake so you can throw it all in a bag and go. No thinking, just grabbing! This is quick and easy and you are out the door for some fun on the water.
This week was a killer as far as a full schedule, and I'm so tired. I kept my outfits pretty simple so I could make it through the week. Read on to get the full details of my outfits, and what was so hectic about my week.
Oh summer is so. much. fun. But I've had more than my fair share. Anyone else? I do miss the lazy days of summer. I wonder if they will ever come back. Now it seems like it's just another season to get ahead in everything. Sports, academics, travel, all of it. I did reach of point of overwhelm this week, and I'd like to call a halt to the festivities, if we could. I could really go for some boring. Who wants to join me?
Well, we've been in the triple digits all month long, and this is the time of year when it is extra hard to make an outfit look interesting. I mean, who wants to wear clothes, much less accessorize? But I did it. I made my outfits look put together and polished while not overheating.
Don't forget! Tomorrow is the last day to register for a chance to win a tube of Rodan + Fields Lashboost! It is officially on backorder, but don't worry, I have the tube right here with me.
Finding your personal style can be as simple as a daily selfie. Each picture you take will help you develop a sense of what is truly you, and what is best admired on other women. Am I the only one who gets bored with their outfits in the summer? There just aren't as many options to add dimension and interest. Plus I don't want more things touching me in this triple-digit heat. My goal this summer is to make my summer outfits as interesting as in the cooler months, and to make sure I get the edge I need. Come see what I'm doing!

I'm a minimalist when it comes to packing. No matter how long my trip is, or where I'm going, I only pack in a carryon. I've gone on trips as long as 3 weeks to Europe, Asia, and Central America, and often visit 2 different climates, but I still fit all of my clothes in a carryon suitcase. Vacations are too precious to waste time on lots of bags. See what I packed for my most recent 2-week trip!
Our family just got back from a 2-week trip to Costa Rica, and we had a blast! This week's What I Wore post is sharing what I packed and wore on our trip. I'm a minimalist packer, so everything I took fit in a carryon bag.
I have a spring uniform that I go back to again and again. This week the weather slowly warmed up, and I went immediately to my uniform. It's easy, comfortable and stylish.
Spring is so iffy here. It's up and down and right now it's cold. Like maybe my tomato plants might not make it cold. Mother Nature must be in a bad mood.
So spring is happening, finally. That's pretty exciting, and I'm finally wearing short sleeves! It feels great! Here is what I wore when the temperatures finally crept up.
Travel season is upon us, and the thing I think about most is my feet. Having cute and comfortable travel shoes is essential for me. Painful feet ruin a trip, and I don't want to miss a thing just because my feet hurt. Over the years I've found some fantastic options. Check them out!
This week I did something uncharacteristically fun. My family and friends were SHOCKED because I'm pretty much no fun at all. My husband brings all the fun to this family, and I jumped in and did something fun too this time. What can I say? I have my moments.
Let's go shopping ladies! I have a fantastic deal for you today, so come check it out!
When spring throws you a curveball (or a snowball) in late April, you make those layers work for you. Here's how I adapted to the cold weather while embracing the season it should be.
Spring time is when our level of busyness ramps up and just continues until the end of the year. Spring soccer has started, the new swim team year has started, along with a schedule change (apparently), the girls have extra rehearsals for their upcoming recital. We also have four birthdays, end of the school year activities, try outs, and more. It's the beginning of the crazy. I know I'm not alone in this.
I was so excited to take my three favorite girls Easter dress shopping for the first time, and since so many of you have said you wish you could go shopping with me, I decided to take you shopping for Easter dresses today. I found several great dresses that fit every budget. Let's go!
It's spring break here, so the kids and I have been prepping the gardens, going to swim lessons and movies. The weather is still all over the place, so I'm making the most of my jackets! I love to layer! Reads more about What I wore this week over on the blog!
This week the weather had a mind of its own, just as it does every spring. I finally got out and ran some errands and got caught up on life. Here's what I wore for a busy week.
This week I went on a field trip with the first graders, spent an afternoon's hard labor in the yard (which I actually love), and learned how to make videos for my blog. This is what I wore!
Here's what I wore while my husband was out of town for over a week. To help illustrate Monday's post and how easy it is to get dressed first thing, in this post I'm pointing out how simple and easy my outfits really are.
People are always asking my why I get dressed every single day. They are amazed that I'm always dressed, no matter when they see me. Today I'm sharing with you why I do it, and what it means.
This week I got to escape the snow and cold for a few days and spend time with my friend in warm and sunny California! It was glorious. See what I wore for this unusual week.
